'Can't happen in a day' - Suniel Shetty opens up about KL Rahul-Athiya Shetty wedding

Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty opened up about his daughter Athiya Shetty’s wedding plans with India cricketer KL Rahul. Suniel said that since the Indian batter has a hectic schedule with several series and tournaments, they have barely had any time to make wedding preparations. The actor stressed that the wedding could not happen in just a two-day break and insisted that it would happen as soon as the couple decide for it to happen. He also expressed that although, as a father, he would want his daughter to get married, Rahul’s schedule is “scary” and there has not been enough time. “I think jaise hi bachhe decide karenge (it will happen as soon as the kids decide),” Suniel told to a reporter from Instant Bollywood. “Rahul ke schedules hai. Abhi Asia Cup hai, World Cup hai, South African tour hai, Australia tour hai. Jab bachho ko break milega tab shaadi hogi. Ek din me shaadi nahi ho sakti na? (Rahul has busy schedules, Asia Cup, World Cup, South African tour and Australia tour. The wedding will happen only when the kids get a break. Athiya and Rahul have been dating for some time, and they made it official when they together attended the premiere of the movie ‘Tadap’ in 2021. Suniel, on the other hand, is one of the regular attendees of cricket matches. The Indian cricket team vice-captain, during his appearance on Gaurav Kapur’s Breakfast with Champions, said that Suniel is not just a cricket fan but he also understands the game really well. He also said that the actor is “borderline obsessed” with the game.
