India’s ace batter Rohit Sharma is all set to indulge in action after a wait of three long months when he takes on West Indies in the opening ODI at Ahmedabad. The ODI series will also mark the commencement of his full-time captaincy career after being given complete white-ball duties. Rohit was rested during the New Zealand Test series and a hamstring injury kept him out of action during the complete South Africa tour.
As the right-hand batter has completely recovered from the injury and is in India’s bio bubble for the West Indies series, he looks all set to flaunt his class. He posted his pic in India jersey on Instagram while captioning it as- ‘can’t wait to get started.’ It has to be noted that Rohit had led India in 10 ODIs in past but this will be his first time since being handed the full-time captaincy duties.
India is all set to play three ODI against West Indies starting from February six in Ahmedabad and they will be followed by three T20Is in Kolkata. Rohit will be leading the side in the first ODI without the services of KL Rahul, who would be available for selection from the 2nd ODI onwards.
