Captain cool Dhoni loses his cool after being obstructed on the pitch fined 75 Percent match fees: The captain of the Indian cricket team in limited overs’ format, Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Thursday cannoned into debutant from Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman after being obstructed on the way while running between the wickets. For which the wicket-keeper batsman has been fined 75% of his match fees while the bowler was charged 50% of his match fees.

The incident took place on the second ball of the 25th over. Batting first, Bangladesh had garnered 307 runs and India were in a spot of bother. Dhoni wanted to take a quick single and while running, he bumped into Mustafizur Rahman. While the bump didn’t seem so nasty on the naked eye, in the replays it was showed clearly that it indeed was a powerful shove by Captain Dhoni.

Mustafizur went off the pitch and was administered appropriate medical measures. The argument whether the collision was intentional or unintentional is evenly split, with one group claiming that Dhoni inadverdently did that while the other group accused Dhoni of unsportsmanlike approach. The Indian skipper seemingly explained to the umpires after the collision and it was later said that Dhoni was penalized for his actions and was fined 75% of his match fee.

Immediately after the collision, Bangladeshi fans raised their voices and booed Captain Dhoni on the field. The Bangladeshi fans were already angry over an alleged wrong decision against Rohit Sharma in the world cup, and this might have infuriated them further.

The Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman who also picked up a match winning 5-wicket haul on debut in the game has also been charged for the altercation and he is reportedly fined 50% of his match fees.
