Carlos Brathwaite to feature in the second season of the PSL
The ambitious Pakistan Super League has received a huge boost after the tournament chairman Najam Sethi announced that West Indies’ World T20 hero Carlos Brathwaite will feature in the second edition of the PSL.
“More boost for PSL’s second edition as more big names give their consent,” Sethi told Dawn News on Monday.
Sethi also revealed more exciting future plans about the tournament adding that PSL will add a few more top performers from the after the conclusion of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Brathwaite shot to fame after hitting hit four consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes in the last over during the 2016 World T20 final at the Eden gardens, Kolkata to help West Indies stun England and lift tile.
Following the huge success of the inaugural edition of PSL in February this year, Sethi was confident about doing even better in its second edition in 2017. He said the coming season will be a substantially improved one in terms of international signings and profits.
In an earlier interview with Dawn, Sethi said Pakistan cricket fans have every reason to be excited about PSL2 which may well see its final getting played in Lahore, hopefully in March next year.
Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Andre Fletcher are other cricketers from the West Indies who have given their consent to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play in the second edition of the PSL.
Last year, T20 superstars like Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Chris Gayle and many other foreign players took part in the event which received a good response from the cricket crazy fans in Pakistan and middle-east.
