Just when it looked Hardik Pandya is all set to move on from the potentially career-changing Koffee with Karan fiasco, he has landed in trouble once again. The allrounder had a forgettable start to the year after the episode of the talk show aired. Ever since the episode was aired, Pandya and KL Rahul, who too had attended the show, were in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
The two, especially Pandya, is facing heavy backlash for the comments that have condemned as ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynistic’. From fans to cricketers, almost everyone has expressed his or her displeasure over the two for the remarks. The Committee of Administrators then suspended the duo pending an inquiry, thus putting their immediate future in doubt. However, later the officials allowed the duo to return to the action pending the appointment of an ombudsman.
Rahul joined India A for the home series against England Lions while Pandya flew to New Zealand to join the senior team for the recently-concluded ODIs. But just when it looked the players have left the dark episode behind, Pandya has found himself in another trouble.
According to reports in News 18, a case has been lodged against the allrounder at Luni police station in Jodhpur. A local advocate registered the case against Pandya for the vulgar comments against women on the talk show. Police have registered the case in it act and SC/ST act.
Pandya makes an impressive comeback
The allrounder, meanwhile, has hit the ground running ever since returning to the side. In his comeback back, he picked up two wickets and pulled off a stunning catch to send back New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, helping India win the third ODI and seal the five-match series.
In the fifth ODI, he smashed 45 off just 22 with the help of 5 sixes to help India recover from a stuttering start and post a challenging 252. With the ball, he picked up the important wicket of Ross Taylor as India went on to win the game by 35 runs and wrap up the series 4-1.
