'Catch up somewhere and talk it out' - Waqar Younis' suggestion to Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir
Both the cricketers have been taking a dig at each other on social media for quite some time now.
Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir are having a go at each other for quite a while now. They never had good relations on the field and after retiring from the game, have been taking a dig at each other either on Twitter or while speaking to the media. Moreover, the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan has led to them not settling at all and have been targetting each other.
Recently, Afridi speaking ill against Indian Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir didn’t go well with the Indian cricketers. Along with Gautam Gambhir, the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina among others slammed him as well. However, former Pakistan cricketer Waqar Younis reckons Gambhir and Afridi are taking it too far now and should sort their issues by meeting soon.
He felt that the way it has been going on in the last few months, it cannot be called banter now and both the cricketers should be smart and sensible with their comments on social media. He also advised the duo to catch up somewhere and calm the matter down.
If you carry on, people will enjoy on social media, says Waqar Younis
“The banter between Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi has been going on for a while now. I think they both got to be smart, sensible, and calm down. It has been going on for way too long. My advice to them is to maybe catch up somewhere around the world and talk it out if you cannot really calm it down.
“In social media, if you carry on that, people are going to love it and people are enjoying it and that I feel that they both should be sensible and smart,” Waqar said during an interaction on chat series “Q20” on GloFans. Meanwhile, amidst the lockdown, both Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi are busy in their own work helping poor people.
While the former who is the MP from Delhi has been making sure everything is fine in the country’s capital and his constituency, Afridi is taking care of the needy through his foundation.
