'Challenged the wrong legend' - Yuvraj Singh reacts after Sachin Tendulkar does 'keep it up' challenge with a blindfold
Sachin did the task with a blindfold on and the Indian legend was seen bouncing the ball off the side of the bat with his eyes closed.
The lockdown has forced many cricketers to try out new things in order to keep themselves busy during the quarantine. Many players have taken the path of either Instagram live or Twitter Q&A session. Some have also resorted to making TikToks and doing unique challenges on social media. At a time when the world is devoid of any sporting activity, cricketers are trying their best to provide their fans with some entertainment.
At a time when the whole world is battling against COVID-19, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh introduced a new challenge– ‘keep it up’. The challenge requires the cricketers to keep the balance and bounce a ball off a cross-bat as many times as possible. The left-hander started the trend of this challenge across the social media and nominated the likes of Sachin, Harbhajan Singh and others to take it up.
‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar, like his impressive batting, took the challenge to a whole new level as he added a twist to it. Sachin did the task with a blindfold on and the Indian legend was seen bouncing the ball off the side of the bat with his eyes closed.
This might take a week to try: Yuvraj Singh
Reacting to Sachin’s video, Yuvraj admitted he challenged the wrong legend. “I am challenging you back @yuvisofficial, but this time with a twist!! All I can ask everyone to do is take care and stay safe,” Sachin wrote as he challenged back Yuvraj.
“I knew I challenged the wrong legend! This might take a week il try,” Yuvraj replied to Sachin’s post.
All Indian cricketers including Yuvraj share an amazing bond with Tendulkar. Be it on or off the field, the ‘Master Blaster’ is respected by all members of the cricketing fraternity. Sachin and Yuvraj also shared many moments together while donning the Indian jersey. The two were a part of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad which lifted the coveted trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
The 2011 World Cup was a memorable one for both Tendulkar and Yuvraj. Tendulkar, while showing his batting expertise, became the top-scorer for India in that tournament with 482 runs. Similarly, Yuvraj also delivered an exemplary performance and bagged the Man of the Tournament for his all-round show. The all-rounder notched up 362 runs in nine matches and picked up 15 wickets.
