First introduced in 1998 as the ICC Knockout Tournament, the Champions Trophy has changed into a prestigious event, often known as the “Mini World Cup.” The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to return after an eight-year gap. Scheduled from February 19 to March 9, this eight-team tournament will be played across Pakistan and Dubai.
The tournament opener will see hosts Pakistan take on New Zealand in Karachi, making it the start of 15 matches featuring the world's top eight teams. Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi are scheduled to host games in Pakistan, with Dubai hosting matches involving India, including a semi-final and potentially the final if India qualifies.
Lahore is set to host the second semi-final and the final unless moved to Dubai if India manages to qualify. The teams are distributed in a set of two groups with Group A featuring Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B sees Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan. The most awaited India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled for Dubai on February 23, while Group B will witness England taking on Australia in Lahore on February 22.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has prioritized accessibility by keeping ticket prices affordable. General enclosure tickets are priced at PKR 1,000 (INR 310) for most games, with premium seating for big matches reaching up to PKR 25,000 (INR 7,764). For games like Pakistan vs Bangladesh in Rawalpindi, prices start at PKR 2,000 (INR 620).
