From qualifying for the Champions Trophy as the No.8 side with a marginal difference in the points ahead of West Indies, Pakistan did what one could not have expected from them especially after a huge loss in their first game at the hands of India. It was a collective team effort well supported by good planning and captaincy which just got better once they put their foot in the knockouts as they tore down the strong batting line-ups of South Africa, England and India backing it with some aggressive batting approach.

Here we look Pakistan team’s and individual performances in the tournament in numbers:

3 – Fakhar Zaman’s century in the final is only the 4th century by a Pakistan player in the Champions Trophy. Saeed Anwar scored two hundreds in 2000 while Shoaib Malik hit one in 2009.

3 – Number of consecutive fifty-plus scores for Fakhar Zaman in this Champions Trophy; only the 5th player to score fifty-plus scores in 3 or more consecutive CT innings. Saeed Anwar is only other Pakistan player to hit 3 fifty-plus scores in 3 CT innings.

9 – Number of dismissals Sarfraz Ahmed has affected as wicketkeeper in this edition of the Champions Trophy; the joint 3rd most by any player in a single edition of CT and the most by a Pakistan keeper.

13 – Hasan Ali has taken 13 wickets in this Champions Trophy; the joint most for any player in a single edition of CT. Jerome Taylor picked 13 wickets in 2006 CT.

18y 257d – By featuring in the final, Shadab Khan became the youngest player to feature in a Champions Trophy final breaking Yuvraj Singh’s record who played the 2000 CT final aged 18y 308d. Interestingly, it was Shadab who took Yuvraj’s wicket in the final.

75* – Partnership stand between Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Amir in the league stage game vs Sri Lanka; the highest for the 8th wicket in the Champions Trophy. Previous highest was 70 by Mitchell Johnson and Brett Lee pair vs West Indies in 2009.

153 – Hasan Ali bowled 153 dot balls in this tournament which is the most by any bowler.

180 – Pakistan’s 180-run win in the final is the biggest win in terms of runs and the 3rd biggest in the Champions Trophy, their biggest win over India in this format.

338/4 – Pakistan’s total of 338/4 in the final is their highest total in an ODI final. It was their 3rd total of 300 and more in ODI finals and all the three have come against India.
