PCB assures venue preparations for CT'25 being 'on schedule'
Champions Trophy 2025 will commence from February 19 and Pakistan are the default hosts of the ninth edition with the United Arab Emirates acting as co-hosts after India refused to travel to their neighbouring country. A total of eight teams will vie for the ultimate glory. They are bifurcated into two groups consisting of four teams each.
Three venues in Pakistan have been selected to host the tournament, namely, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi. On the other hand, India games will be hosted in Dubai. A total of 15 games will be played, including the knockouts, in a span of 19 days with the winner of the tournament to be decided in the final, scheduled to be played on March 9.
Pakistan are the defending champions as they had beaten India in the final of the Champions Trophy 2017 played in England. The latest edition is being played after a hiatus of over seven years. As per the ICC calendar, the next edition of the Champions Trophy will be held in 2029.
