Champions Trophy 2025 Stats

The 2025 edition of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy is all set to entertain fans worldwide as it begins from February 19 to March 9 across Pakistan and the UAE. This prestigious tournament returns after an eight-year gap since the 2017 edition, with defending champions Pakistan hosting their first global cricket tournament since 1996. However, India’s matches are being played in Dubai due to security concerns.

The Champions Trophy 2025 will feature eight top-ranked ODI teams, divided into two groups. The competition will be played in a round-robin format with the top teams from each group advancing to the semi-finalists and then to the finals.

Pakistan will host matches in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, while Dubai is the venue for India’s games. The tournament kicks off with the Men in Green facing New Zealand in Karachi, followed by India’s clash against Bangladesh in Dubai. The India-Pakistan encounter is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai. The tournament concludes with the final on March 9 in Lahore. However, if India qualifies, the final will be relocated to Dubai.

Meanwhile, legendary West Indian batter Chris Gayle leads the tally of most runs scored in this competition with 791 runs in 17 innings, followed by Mahela Jayawardene (742 runs) and Shikhar Dhawan (701 runs). On the other hand, New Zealand’s Kyle Mills tops the charts with 28 wickets in 15 innings, trailed by Lasith Malinga (25 wickets) and Muttiah Muralitharan (24 wickets).

India and Australia are the most successful teams, each claiming the trophy twice while Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies have one title each.
