Chennai Super Kings (CSK) unveil their official jersey for IPL 2020
Just like the old times, the cricket kit is in traditional yellow colour with red and blue lines on the shoulders.
The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to get underway from September 19, with the final to take place on November 10. After a long unexpected delay and seeing the rise in the number of coronavirus cases in India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) identified the Gulf nation as a viable option to stage the tournament amid a pandemic. The 2020 edition will be played across three venues namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
As the much-awaited tournament is just 15 days away, the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings are facing massive blows. The franchise was jolted after 13 members of its contingent including two players namely pacer Deepak Chahar and right-handed batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Adding to the misery, their vice-captain Suresh Raina decided to pull out his name from the cash-rich league and returned back to India citing personal reasons.
It’s been downhill ever since for the Yellow Army as they’ve now been shaken with a third massive blow. The veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who was expected to reach UAE in the first week of September, has withdrawn his name from the T20 league due to personal reasons. Harbhajan has been a part of CSK’s squad for the past two years and announced his decision of not being part of IPL via a tweet.
CSK share a picture of MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja
Amidst these difficult times, the official twitter handle of Chennai Super Kings gave a glimpse of their brand new cricket kit. CSK shared a picture where the skipper MS Dhoni, West Indies superstar Dwayne Bravo and Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja can be seen sporting the new jersey.
The franchise tweeted, “The #yellove jerseys for the Super King in you! Now available at 7.life #WhistlePodu @TheSevenLife_”
Many changes have not been made in the team’s jersey for this year. Just like the old times, the cricket kit is in traditional yellow colour with red and blue lines on the shoulders. The jersey also has the logo of the team’s official sponsors namely The Muthoot Corp, Gulf, SNJ and British Empire on the front while the team’s logo along with the name is placed at upper left corner.
Despite the hurdles, the three-time champion Chennai Super Kings will be looking forward to registering victory for the fourth time in the T20 Trophy in this edition of the cash-rich league under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
