Chennai Super Kings welcome Scott Kuggeleijn with a set of gifts

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have had rousing start to their title defence this season. They won three games in a row before Mumbai Indians (MI) handed them their first defeat of the season. However, CSK’s season has been filled with injuries and players unavailable for the season.

Lungi Ngidi injured himself just ahead of the IPL tournament opener and hence, was ruled out of the entire season. Meanwhile, David Willey pulled out of this season due to family reasons. Dwayne Bravo has been dealing with a hamstring niggle and might miss the next game. Shane Watson is a bit injury prone as well and thus, Stephen Fleming revealed that they are taking the cautious approach. They do not want to risk the Aussie all-rounder.

Hence, CSK have been short on quality overseas fast bowling options. They have played only three overseas players in three out of their four games. Mitchell Santner was the fourth foreigner that played in the game against Rajasthan Royals. Hence, as a replacement for Lungi Ngidi, CSK signed up an exciting fast bowling all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn.

Kuggeleijn takes to Instagram to show CSK’s love

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most successful franchises in the history of the IPL. The players have expressed their pleasure and delight of being a part of the franchise. Time and again, various Indian and overseas players have lauded the franchise for the love they’ve shown.

Scott Kuggeleijn, the latest addition to the CSK squad took to Instagram to share a picture, showing how the Chennai based franchise welcomed him. The 27-year-old Kiwi was welcomed with a photo frame which had pictures of him in the New Zealand national team colours, a childhood picture and one with his loved ones.

He also got a book, titled ‘The Ultimate Comeback’ which is based on their journey and rise to the top in the 2018 season after being discarded for two years. Kuggeleijn also got a pillow with his name embedded on it.

After a day of drifting I’ve been blown away by the efforts of the @chennaiipl team and management to make me feel at home.
