Cheteshwar Pujara scores a fifty on his Yorkshire debut: Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara started off his career at Yorkshire with a fifty on debut and he looked in fine touch throughout his innings.  His half century helped his side to make a comeback on the day 2 against Nottinghamshire, who made 428 in their first innings courtesy England ODI opener Alex Hales’ maiden first class double hundred. Yorkshire ended day 2 at 226-3.

Cheteshwar Pujara added a 116 run partnership for the second wicket along with youngster Alex Lees, who scored his seventh first-class ton. Lees made 100 off 223 balls before he was caught behind by former England wicket-keeper Chris Read off Will Gidman. With that catch, Read has registered his 850^th dismissal for Nottinghamshire.

Pujara looked in complete control during his 59 as he drove, pulled and cut the ball with complete authority. In his three hour stay at the crease, Pujara scored nine boundaries and was dismissed by former England All Rounder Samit Patel caught by substitute fielder Ben Kitt. Yorkshire is Pujara’s second English county side. He played for Worcestershire in the last few matches last season. In his Worcestershire debut, he was dismissed for a duck. Pujara is bidding a comeback into the Indian Test Team after he was dropped from the Final Test match of the four match test series at Sydney.

In the Second Division, Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara got out for 149 on his Surrey debut after he ended the day 1 on 112. His overnight partner Steve Davies scored his maiden first class double century and remained unbeaten on 200 when Surrey declared their innings on 563-7 against Glamorgan.
