To note, Pujara has bowled only once in international cricket. However, he has taken six wickets after bowling a total of 41.5 overs in first-class cricket. Meanwhile, Sussex on July 13 (Wednesday) uploaded a video on their official Twitter handle where Pujara can be seen rolling his arm over.
An over of Cheteshwar Pujara bowling, Sussex wrote on Twitter
Talking about the over, Pujara bowled a rank long-hop in his first delivery, the second was pretty much the same with the batter tucking it to the leg-side. After bowling two short-length deliveries, Pujara overcompensated and bowled the third ball a full toss. Pujara finally landed a perfect delivery during his fourth ball of the over which was equally respected by the batter. While the fifth ball was driven towards mid-off, Pujara capped off his over after bowling a delivery on the leg-stump which was tucked away by the batter.
Talking about the match, Sussex batted first and scored 588/9 in 142.5 overs. While Pujara played well with his 46 runs, senior batter Tom Alsop stroked an excellent 150. Ali Orr, Oliver Carter, Delray Rawlins, and James Coles also stroked excellent fifties for their side. For Leicestershire, Skipper Callum Parkinson was outstanding as the spinner grabbed a five-wicket haul.
In reply, Leicestershire batters are batting excellently. Opener Rishi Patel missed his century by one run, but Louis Kimber (104 runs), Colin Ackermann (167*), and Wiaan Mulder (129*) have put their team in a commanding position with their score being 529/4 in 143 overs towards the stumps on day 3.
For Sussex, veteran pacer Steven Finn has been excellent as he has scalped three wickets in 29 overs he has bowled so far. Apart from Finn, James Coles has also scalped one wicket for his team, but he has been costly as per the format’s standards so far.
