The Royal Challengers Bangalore received a huge boost to their bowling attack after South Africa Chinaman Tabraiz Shamsi was included in the squad to replace injured West Indian leg-spinner Samuel Badree.

RCB suffered a huge dent to his bowling setup after Samuel Badree was unfortunately injured just an ahead of the start of the tournament. He eventually failed to recover in time for IPL 9, making the franchise look out for a suitable replacement.

Tabraiz Shamsi has already landed at the RCB camp. There is an excitement after his inclusion as the 26-year-old, who is nicknamed as ‘sorcerer’, has the knack of turning the bowl big on both sides of the wicket and can bamboozle with his wrong un’s.

Tabraiz was born in Johannesburg plays his domestic cricket for the Titans back in South Africa. He hogged limelight last year with his impressive showing at the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) where he was the leading wicket-taker for his franchise St Kitts and Nevis Patriots with 11 wickets at an average of 13.27.

Allan Donald welcomed Shamsi to the bold squad and said, “Meet our new mysterious spinner. He has arrived from Johannesburg this morning. Yet to get to know him a lot better but I’ve seen him bowl for the Titans. He is very successful with what he’s done in the past couple of years so I think Dan has made a good buy for us. So look out for a lot of mystery balls in there!”
