We have seen it happen at the IPL, and we will once again see the power-packed duo of Brendon McCullum and Chris Gayle walk out in the middle and send the opposition bowlers for leather hunt from the very first delivery. Both Gayle and ‘Bazz’ will soon be seen together playing for Rangpur Riders in the Bangladesh Premier League. It was earlier reported that McCullum will join the Riders from November 15th and he will play the entire tourney.
The former Kiwi international and Gayle are set to play together on 18th November. Earlier, cricket fans have witnessed the dynamic duo turn out for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, and they have showered sixes and fours from the ‘word go’.
The duo’s arrival will boost the confidence of the team: Moody
Rider’s coach Tom Moody said: “In T20, the start is very important and we are lacking in this. If batsmen support, then it becomes easy for the bowlers to do their job.”
Moody also feels that the arrival of McCullum and Gayle will boost the confidence of the team: “In the next 2-3 days Gayle, McCullum and Kusal Perera will join the team. Our top order is failing to score runs. In Sha Allah, the top order will click after their arrival.”
Earlier, Rider’s Chief Executive Istiak Sadek spoke to Cricbuzz and said “Definitely we would get McCullum because there is no Global Twenty20 League now and he will be available from November 15”.
