Chris Gayle calls Kohli-AB duo as Batman-Superman of cricket

Royal Challengers Bangalore have found their way back in the tournament with some delightful batting from Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. Chris Gayle congratulated the skipper for scoring 750-plus runs in this season. ”I must congratulate him on achieving this. Two more games and may be he can get 900 runs. If we qualify for the playoffs, 1000 as well, who knows. It’s always about determination. He’s a person who is never satisfied. He always wants to get better, which is good. It always isn’t about power hitting. It’s about right shot selection and he’s very fit as well. He throws himself around the field. (He’s a) complete cricketer.”

Chris Gayle also had a very unique way of describing the VK-AB duo. He said that Kohli and AB de Villiers pair is like the superman and batman of the cricket world. “Those two guys are playing like ‘Batman and Superman,” quoted Chris Gayle after RCB thumped the Kolkata Knight Riders last night.

Kohli and AB have put on a collective 1349 runs this season in the 12 matches so far and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that they are enjoying their time in the middle. While AB hit a thunderous century against the Gujarat Lions recently, Kohli has already hit 3 centuries this season. Gayle admitted to the fact and said the two players are in the form of their lives and should make the most out of this time.

“They are in the form of their lives, especially Kohli. They should continue pressing the gas, don’t ease up and fill their boots with as much runs as possible. They are doing a phenomenal job for RCB,” Gayle said.

The two players share a great camaraderie on and off the field and have often credited each other for their successes on the field. Chris Gayle, too, is optimistic about the good partnership between the arguably two best batsmen in the world. Gayle conceded that it will only be great for the team if they continue to bat this way in the crunch situations. Chris Gayle was all praise for Kohli saying he has been leading from the front, which is great.

“It’s fantastic, they (Kohli and AB) are batting under pressure as well. Credit must go to both of them. Kohli leading from the front is even better. Overall, it’s a great team effort. Those guys may have contributed in all the 12 games so far. Hopefully, they can continue and put us in winning position,” he quoted.
