The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is more of a carnival than a regular T20 franchise cricket league where the objective of the event is the celebration of life. Players from all around the world flee into the Caribbean, this time of the year to have the time of their lives whilst playing some competitive cricket. West Indies T20 legend Chris Gayle faced off against British journalist and good friend Piers Morgan in a one of a kind contest.

The two lovers of the game of cricket competed against each other to determine who is the better dancer amongst the two. The event was adjudicated by the creator of the ‘Champion Dance’, DJ Bravo. Morgan and Gayle were accompanied by a couple of cheerleaders with their customary PomPoms.

After a few minutes of jive, the verdict was out and Bravo announced that it was indeed a close contest but Gayle had the upper hand. Piers Morgan refused to accept his defeat and proclaimed that he was the winner. Bravo had to heed to the Britisher’s demand and decided to announce Morgan as the winner of the dance off although everyone knows about Chris Gayle’s credentials when it comes to dancing.

Gayle’s dancing chronicles are well rooted to India. The snippet of Chris Gayle doing the Bhangra along with his Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli is still etched on the minds of the masses. He recently uploaded a short video dancing to the tunes of “Laila mein Laila”, entertaining one and all with his Bollywood inspired steps.

It was recently announced the Gayle force will not be confined to only T20s as he was selected for the upcoming One Day Internationals against England. He is currently captaining the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL.
