Chris Gayle meets Amitabh Bachchan at his residence

India will face up to the might of the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday in what promises to be a blockbuster of a semifinal. With their encounter only on the 31st of March, the West Indian stars sat back and enjoyed the pleasures of the financial capital of India.
For Chris Gayle, however, it was perhaps one of the most special days in his life. He made his way to the house of perhaps India’s legendary actor, and perhaps the most successful Indian actor of yesteryear – Amitabh Bachchan. Chris Gayle, who is considered to be the most destructive batsman in World cricket, shared what many called ‘A fan moment’ with Bachchan.
Both celebrities took to social media to announce the meeting. First, it was Chris Gayle who shared his favorite moment on his Instagram account. The post read: “What an absolutely legend, @amitabhbachchan Thanks for the invite and hospitality at your home, thanks also for the books. The boss wants me to score a 100 and India win but I would take the win rather than the 100. #Love&Respect to a great man, Mr. Bachchan. The wine & food.”
Amitabh Bachchan’s official Facebook page also went live barely a few minutes later. Apart from posting a couple of photographs of the meeting, the post on Bachchan’s page read: “FB 1289 – Chris Gayle pays a visit home … did not know he was a fan .. I was my best behaved and politest .. hoping he would pay back the compliment when we play them on Thursday .. hehe ..”

While it seems evident that Mr. Bachchan certainly doesn’t want Gayle to fire against the Indians when they clash on Thursday, many ticketholders for the match will be hoping for a Gayle Blitz, something similar to what they witnessed in their first encounter against England.
