Chris Gayle slams Emirates Airlines for not letting him board the flight
Gayle wasn't allowed to board the flight despite having a business class ticket.
West Indies batting superstar Chris Gayle is all royalty when it comes to his lifestyle. The Bradman of T20 cricket is known for his lavish ways of living and splurging on only the best of things money can buy. The batsman, who has a double ton in ODI cricket and two triple-hundreds in Test matches, along with a ton in T20I cricket, is a T20 freelancer even at the age of 40 and has shown no signs of slowing down.
Gayle made his debut in 1999 and is still going strong after 20 years of international cricket. Currently, he is the highest run-getter in ODI cricket with 10,480 runs in 301 ODIs with 25 centuries and a best of 215 at an average of 37.83. He also has 7214 runs in 103 Tests with a best of 333 at an average of 42.18 and 1627 runs in 58 T20Is with a best of 117. The left-handed monster is the only batsman with 10,000 plus runs in all the three forms of cricket.
Chris Gayle slams Emirates for asking him to fly economy despite business class ticket
Recently, Chris Gayle took to social media and expressed his disappointment towards Emirates Airlines after having a bitter experience with them. Seemingly, the airlines didn’t let Gayle board the flight despite having a confirmed ticket, that too business class, as they had overbooked the said flight. They offered him a flight at a later time, or the option of travelling economy class despite having a more expensive business class ticket, which provides more privacy and amenities.
“So disappointed @emirates, I have a confirmed flight and they gonna tell me that they are overbooked, WTF! Not only that, @emirates want me to travel economy when it’s a business class ticket – so now I have to travel on a later flight! Just ridiculous @emirates!Bad experience,” Gayle tweeted.
Chris Gayle last played in an international match in August against India and scored 72 runs off 42 balls at a strike rate of 175.60. Only a brilliant century from Virat Kohli prevented the Caribbean side from winning the match. The Jamaican heavyweight was not picked for the upcoming series against Afghanistan in India, where both teams will play three ODIs and as many T20Is starting from November 6.
