The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been in a transition period for quite some time now. It has seen numerous officials resign while many have been sacked. Supreme Court has taken the matters into its own hands and now there is a Committee of Administrators (CoA) which has the say.

The CoA assembled in Delhi for a meeting and has taken some tough calls. They also talked about the Kochi Tuskers issue and decided a thing or two about it. The matters discussed were relating to Indian cricket team and the appointment of an administrative manager.

Kochi Tusker’s issue

Kochi Tuskers, a former team in the Indian Premier League had dragged BCCI to court over money issues and the Indian board very snail-like in its approach when it came to resolving the same. This has been an issue for a long time as CoA has now advised BCCI to get over with it.

They have given a deadline for the same as they want the issue done and dusted before 26th of June. It has ordered the members of the BCCI to inform the court about the same. BCCI will now have to come to an agreement with the defunct Kochi Tuskers side and they might lose some money over it as well.

Appointment of administrative manager

There is not a permanent post for an administrative manager of the Indian team. Committee of Administrators have advised BCCI to create one. They have also suggested the BCCI to get over the habit of responding to situations when they arise and start planning ahead.

CoA also wants the board to advertise for the position of the manager. They want a thorough professional and an able person to occupy the post. They want this position to be a contract based position. A minimum of two-year contract should be offered to the person taking up the post and they have stressed on the fact that the person taking up this job should be a qualified one.
