Colin Munro tags Bhuvi and Bumrah as the best new ball bowlers

Kiwi’s swashbuckling batsman Colin Munro, who almost sealed it for his side in the final ODI against India at Kanpur, claimed that Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah are currently two of the best new ball bowler bowlers in subcontinental conditions.

Moreover, Munro combatted the new ball attack perfectly with the help of his aggression as he smacked the very first ball he faced over the square leg boundary off Bhuvi. In fact, he completed the first twenty runs of the knock in less than six balls.

The counter-attack caused panic in the Indian camp and also upset Bhuvi’s rhythm up front. As a result, he proved to be extremely expensive throughout the innings. However, Munro confessed that it may not be the way to go for him every time he faces off against B ‘n’ B.

“The big challenge for me was just actually finding a good tempo to bat at. I’d like to say that I want to go and blast off in the first 10 overs but it’s not always going to be the case, especially when you are playing against Bhuvi and Bumrah, the two best opening bowlers in these conditions,” commented Colin Munro according to TOI.

Out of all the teams which toured India in the last couple of years, it is the New Zealand team which has troubled India the most with their competitiveness. India was staring at a certain series defeat with Nicholls and Latham taking the Black Caps at the cusp of victory at Kanpur.

Also, the fact that they have remained unbeaten in T20I fixtures with the Kiwis winning all the five previous ties, would motivate them further prior to the start of the T20I series on November 1.

“We have been lucky enough for the last couple of years to be successful. Looking forward to the series and it should be a good one,” added Munro while talking about their record in the T20Is.

“I play aggressively, my way sometimes it comes off and you look good, sometimes it doesn’t and you don’t look good. Obviously, there is plenty to play for and we have got a good record against India. Hopefully, we will get off to a good start,” concluded Munro.
