Often, we come across various arguments and discussions about the best T20 league in the world. During all these discussions, two leagues always find the center stage. Cricket fans are always split about the better league between the Indian Premier Leauge (IPL) and the Pakistan Premier League (PSL). Both these leagues play on their own set of strengths and also have their shortcomings.

The IPL is a much-better established tournament and has witnessed some of the stalwarts taking part in it. However, the PSL is not far behind and is catching up. Some of the greatest players of all-time were involved in both these leagues and we&#8217;ve decided to form an all-time combined XI from both these leagues.

Babar Azam is one of the finest batsmen ever produced by Pakistan. He is a great T20 player and is a terrific addition to any side. With his batting. He adds a great balance to the team. Babar Azam has been one of the best players in the PSL over the last five seasons.

The 26-year-old has represented two teams in the PSL &#8211; Islamabad United and Karachi Kings. The right-hander is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament and has scored 1516 runs at an average of 38.

Babar scored these runs at a strike rate of 118 and smacked above 50 fourteen times in 45 innings. He hit 163 fours and 23 sixes as well. He took his team Karachi Kings to maiden title victory in the recently concluded PSL 2020

There have been several openers who featured in the IPL over the years. But no one is anywhere close to the kind of impact David Warner has created. One might argue that Chris Gayle would also fit into this spot. However, the Caribbean cricketer hasn&#8217;t been as consistent as David Warner and most of Gayle&#8217;s exploits came in just three or four seasons.

Warner is unbelievably consistent. Ever since he has made a switch to the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the southpaw has been an absolute beast in the tournament. He is the leading run-scorer for the franchise and also led them to the title triumph in 2016. Warner scored 5254 runs in 142 innings and has got four centuries in the tournament.

His average of 42.71 combined with a strike rate of 141.54 makes him one of the most lethal players in the IPL ever. Warner scored 48 half-centuries in the tournament which is the highest for any batsman.

Suresh Raina is referred to as &#8216;Mr. IPL&#8217; and has been one of the backbones of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Chennai Super Kings</strong></a> over the years. No matter whether he is in the Indian team or not, irrespective of the kind of domestic season he&#8217;s had, Raina turns out to be a completely different cricketer when he plays in the IPL.

The left-hander is the first to score 5,000 runs in the tournament and is also quite handy with the ball. It is through his IPL performances that he sealed a spot in the Indian team and was a regular feature across all three formats. Raina has scored 5,368 runs in 189 innings at an average of 33.34 and strike rate of 137.14.

He has got one century and 38 half-centuries in the tournament. The number three batsman is also amongst the highest boundary hitters in the league. However, he pulled out of IPL 2020 tournament and stunned many of his die-hard fans. It has to be seen if he comes back in IPL 2021 or not.

Virat Kohli is one of the most prolific batsmen in the IPL. The <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/rcb-royal-challengers-bangalore/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>RCB skipper</strong></a> is highly unfortunate not to have got his hands on the title as yet. Poor picks at the auction, infirm decisions on the field, and various other reasons have resulted in RCB not winning the tournament even once.

However, Virat has always given his hundred per cent to the franchise. He is the highest scorer in the league with 5878 runs in 184 innings at an average of 38.16. It has always been a highly competitive battle between him and Raina for the top spot.

However, it is quite a commendable effort from Virat to stay right at the top as he hasn&#8217;t scored heavily in the first few seasons. He has scored five centuries in the tournament and has got the highest score of 113 runs.

You need not look for anyone beyond <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/csk-chennai-super-kings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>MS Dhoni</strong></a> to lead the side and keep the wickets. He has led an IPL team on 12 instances thus far and failed to get to the playoffs only twice. However, things changed for MSD&#8217;s side as CSK failed to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2020. Dhoni has got lightning hands behind the stumps and knows exactly how to get the best out of his players. Moreover, he is one of the leading run-scorers in the history of the tournament.

He scored 4,632 runs in 182 innings and is the only batsman who has batted at number four or lower on most of the occasions than anyone else in the top-ten. He averages 40.99 in the league and has smashed 216 sixes in the tournament till date.

Furthermore, he is very useful with the bat and can score runs at a great pace. In 104 innings, the Caribbean cricketer has mustered 1,490 runs and has hit 61 sixes. He is the fourth-highest wicket-taker with the ball and isn&#8217;t far away from getting to the top position.

Bravo accounted for 153 wickets in 137 innings till now at an average of 24.81. More often than not, he bowls all his four overs at the death and an economy rate of just 8.4 is something exceptional. In the PSL, he picked up 11 wickets in 14 matches.

Mohammad Nawaz is a bowling all-rounder from Rawalpindi in Pakistan. At quite a young age, the 25-year-old has achieved several laurels and has represented Pakistan in all three formats.

Even though he has been in and out of the national side, Nawaz has been quite consistent in the PSL. He has represented the Quetta Gladiators in all five editions of the tournament thus far and done well.

The left-hander is the fourth-highest wicket-taker with 49 wickets in 52 innings at an average of 25.4. He bowls very tight lines and lengths and his economy rate of 7.15 signifies the same. Nawaz keeps one end tight and helps the bowlers at the other end pick up timely wickets. He can also contribute with the bat if required and scores at a good strike rate.

Wahab Riaz has been around for quite a few years now and is one of the most experienced campaigners around. The left-arm pacer has got great skill and can swing the ball both ways. Moreover, he has got quite a few variations up his sleeve and thus, is one of the most effective players in the PSL. Wahab is quite capable with the bat and can score some quick runs if required.

He can be used as the floater in this line-up. The left-arm pacer represents the Peshawar Zalmi and has picked more wickets than anyone else in the PSL. He has taken just 54 innings to account for 76 wickets at an average of 18.71. His economy rate of 7 is fabulous but he is yet to pick up a four-wicket haul in the league.

Hasan Ali is a highly crafty pacer hailing from Pakistan. You don&#8217;t often associate the word &#8216;crafty&#8217; with Pakistan pacers. They are usually quick and send shivers down the spines of the batsmen. However, Ali is by no means express quick and bowls gentle medium pace.

He works a lot on his variations and is very successful in deceiving the batsmen with this clever change of pace. Ali is the second-highest wicket-taker in the PSL and can also bat a bit. The right-arm pacer picked up 59 wickets in 44 innings at an average of 21 and economy rate which is just a touch over seven.

He can possibly open the bowling for the team or operate during the middle-overs to restrict the run flow. He did exceedingly well for Peshawar Zalmi thus far and is expected to continue the momentum.

<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/lasith-malinga-takes-the-field-in-sri-lanka-within-12-hours-after-playing-for-mumbai-indians/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Lasith Malinga</strong></a> can easily be regarded as one of the best overseas players the IPL has ever witnessed. Right from the first edition of the tournament, he has had his loyalties to the Mumbai Indians and played a critical part in their success.

The Sri Lankan pacer wasn&#8217;t picked in the auction last year but joined the team as the support staff. However, he made a resounding comeback into the team this year as a player. Slinga Malinga is the first bowler ever to get to 150 IPL wickets.

In 122 innings till now, Malinga has picked up 170 wickets. He has got a whole lot of variations and there is hardly any change in his bowling action. That is what that makes him so successful. Furthermore, even though he bowls at the top and at the death, his economy rate in the tournament is just 7.14 which is quite fascinating.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra is one of the most underrated bowlers in the IPL. Although he has been around for quite a while now, Mishra hasn&#8217;t got as many opportunities as he&#8217;d have liked. He is the second leading wicket-taker in the IPL and isn&#8217;t far behind Malinga.

Mishra likes to flight the ball and gives it a lot of revs in the air. In 138 matches, he has accounted for 160 scalps at an economy rate of 7.34. The leggie has picked up three four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul in the tournament till now.

Amit Mishra also picked up the most hat-tricks in the IPL. He recently played for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 but had to leave the tournament mid-way with an injury.

<p>Wahab Riaz has been around for quite a few years now and is one of the most experienced campaigners around. The left-arm pacer has got great skill and can swing the ball both ways. Moreover, he has got quite a few variations up his sleeve and thus, is one of the most effective players in the PSL. Wahab is quite capable with the bat and can score some quick runs if required.</p>
<p>He can be used as the floater in this line-up. The left-arm pacer represents the Peshawar Zalmi and has picked more wickets than anyone else in the PSL. He has taken just 54 innings to account for 76 wickets at an average of 18.71. His economy rate of 7 is fabulous but he is yet to pick up a four-wicket haul in the league.</p>

<p>Hasan Ali is a highly crafty pacer hailing from Pakistan. You don’t often associate the word ‘crafty’ with Pakistan pacers. They are usually quick and send shivers down the spines of the batsmen. However, Ali is by no means express quick and bowls gentle medium pace.</p>
<p>He works a lot on his variations and is very successful in deceiving the batsmen with this clever change of pace. Ali is the second-highest wicket-taker in the PSL and can also bat a bit. The right-arm pacer picked up 59 wickets in 44 innings at an average of 21 and economy rate which is just a touch over seven.</p>
<p>He can possibly open the bowling for the team or operate during the middle-overs to restrict the run flow. He did exceedingly well for Peshawar Zalmi thus far and is expected to continue the momentum.</p>

<p>The Sri Lankan pacer wasn’t picked in the auction last year but joined the team as the support staff. However, he made a resounding comeback into the team this year as a player. Slinga Malinga is the first bowler ever to get to 150 IPL wickets.</p>
<p>In 122 innings till now, Malinga has picked up 170 wickets. He has got a whole lot of variations and there is hardly any change in his bowling action. That is what that makes him so successful. Furthermore, even though he bowls at the top and at the death, his economy rate in the tournament is just 7.14 which is quite fascinating.</p>

<p>Leg-spinner Amit Mishra is one of the most underrated bowlers in the IPL. Although he has been around for quite a while now, Mishra hasn’t got as many opportunities as he’d have liked. He is the second leading wicket-taker in the IPL and isn’t far behind Malinga.</p>
<p>Mishra likes to flight the ball and gives it a lot of revs in the air. In 138 matches, he has accounted for 160 scalps at an economy rate of 7.34. The leggie has picked up three four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul in the tournament till now.</p>
<p>Amit Mishra also picked up the most hat-tricks in the IPL. He recently played for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 but had to leave the tournament mid-way with an injury.</p>

<p>Often, we come across various arguments and discussions about the best T20 league in the world. During all these discussions, two leagues always find the center stage. Cricket fans are always split about the better league between the Indian Premier Leauge (IPL) and the Pakistan Premier League (PSL). Both these leagues play on their own set of strengths and also have their shortcomings.</p>
<p>The IPL is a much-better established tournament and has witnessed some of the stalwarts taking part in it. However, the PSL is not far behind and is catching up. Some of the greatest players of all-time were involved in both these leagues and we&#8217;ve decided to form an all-time combined XI from both these leagues.</p>

<h3>1. Babar Azam | PSL</h3>

<p>Babar Azam is one of the finest batsmen ever produced by Pakistan. He is a great T20 player and is a terrific addition to any side. With his batting. He adds a great balance to the team. Babar Azam has been one of the best players in the PSL over the last five seasons.</p>
<p>The 26-year-old has represented two teams in the PSL &#8211; Islamabad United and Karachi Kings. The right-hander is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament and has scored 1516 runs at an average of 38.</p>
<p>Babar scored these runs at a strike rate of 118 and smacked above 50 fourteen times in 45 innings. He hit 163 fours and 23 sixes as well. He took his team Karachi Kings to maiden title victory in the recently concluded PSL 2020</p>

<h3>2. David Warner | IPL</h3>

<p>There have been several openers who featured in the IPL over the years. But no one is anywhere close to the kind of impact David Warner has created. One might argue that Chris Gayle would also fit into this spot. However, the Caribbean cricketer hasn&#8217;t been as consistent as David Warner and most of Gayle&#8217;s exploits came in just three or four seasons.</p>
<p>Warner is unbelievably consistent. Ever since he has made a switch to the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the southpaw has been an absolute beast in the tournament. He is the leading run-scorer for the franchise and also led them to the title triumph in 2016. Warner scored 5254 runs in 142 innings and has got four centuries in the tournament.</p>
<p>His average of 42.71 combined with a strike rate of 141.54 makes him one of the most lethal players in the IPL ever. Warner scored 48 half-centuries in the tournament which is the highest for any batsman.</p>
<h3>3. Suresh Raina | IPL</h3>

<p>Suresh Raina is referred to as &#8216;Mr. IPL&#8217; and has been one of the backbones of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Chennai Super Kings</strong></a> over the years. No matter whether he is in the Indian team or not, irrespective of the kind of domestic season he&#8217;s had, Raina turns out to be a completely different cricketer when he plays in the IPL.</p>
<p>The left-hander is the first to score 5,000 runs in the tournament and is also quite handy with the ball. It is through his IPL performances that he sealed a spot in the Indian team and was a regular feature across all three formats. Raina has scored 5,368 runs in 189 innings at an average of 33.34 and strike rate of 137.14.</p>
<p>He has got one century and 38 half-centuries in the tournament. The number three batsman is also amongst the highest boundary hitters in the league. However, he pulled out of IPL 2020 tournament and stunned many of his die-hard fans. It has to be seen if he comes back in IPL 2021 or not.</p>

<h3>4. Virat Kohli | IPL</h3>

<p>Virat Kohli is one of the most prolific batsmen in the IPL. The <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/rcb-royal-challengers-bangalore/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>RCB skipper</strong></a> is highly unfortunate not to have got his hands on the title as yet. Poor picks at the auction, infirm decisions on the field, and various other reasons have resulted in RCB not winning the tournament even once.</p>
<p>However, Virat has always given his hundred per cent to the franchise. He is the highest scorer in the league with 5878 runs in 184 innings at an average of 38.16. It has always been a highly competitive battle between him and Raina for the top spot.</p>
<p>However, it is quite a commendable effort from Virat to stay right at the top as he hasn&#8217;t scored heavily in the first few seasons. He has scored five centuries in the tournament and has got the highest score of 113 runs. </p>

<p>You need not look for anyone beyond <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/csk-chennai-super-kings/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>MS Dhoni</strong></a> to lead the side and keep the wickets. He has led an IPL team on 12 instances thus far and failed to get to the playoffs only twice. The Jharkhand batsman has led Chennai Super Kings into the playoffs every single time till 2019 and the team has got into the final whenever the entire tournament was played in India.</p>
<p>However, things changed for MSD&#8217;s side as CSK failed to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2020. Dhoni has got lightning hands behind the stumps and knows exactly how to get the best out of his players. Moreover, he is one of the leading run-scorers in the history of the tournament.</p>
<p>He scored 4,632 runs in 182 innings and is the only batsman who has batted at number four or lower on most of the occasions than anyone else in the top-ten. He averages 40.99 in the league and has smashed 216 sixes in the tournament till date.</p>
<h3>6. DJ Bravo | IPL &amp; PSL</h3>

He initially represented the Mumbai Indians and then moved to the Chennai Super Kings. Bravo has won the Purple Cap in the tournament twice thus far and is amongst the leading wicket-takers.</p>
<p>Furthermore, he is very useful with the bat and can score runs at a great pace. In 104 innings, the Caribbean cricketer has mustered 1,490 runs and has hit 61 sixes. He is the fourth-highest wicket-taker with the ball and isn&#8217;t far away from getting to the top position.</p>
<p>Bravo accounted for 153 wickets in 137 innings till now at an average of 24.81. More often than not, he bowls all his four overs at the death and an economy rate of just 8.4 is something exceptional. In the PSL, he picked up 11 wickets in 14 matches.</p>

<p>Mohammad Nawaz is a bowling all-rounder from Rawalpindi in Pakistan. At quite a young age, the 25-year-old has achieved several laurels and has represented Pakistan in all three formats.</p>
<p>Even though he has been in and out of the national side, Nawaz has been quite consistent in the PSL. He has represented the Quetta Gladiators in all five editions of the tournament thus far and done well.</p>
