As a captain, MS Dhoni did a really commendable job lifting his team up from a deficit of 0-4 in the ODI series to ending the tour with a virtual 4-4 series tie. He became the first ever captain to whitewash Australia in Australia in any format.

With the bat in hand Dhoni played two useful cameos coming at a lightning strike rate of 208.33 in the two outings he had at the crease. He was effective behind the stumps as well, as he was involved in 4 dismissals, 2 catches and 2 stumpings.
