The ICC Champions Trophy, which started in the year 1998, is today one of the most competitive international tournaments and is played by the top 8 cricketing nations as per the rankings. Into its 8th edition, teams from Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, England, South Africa, Bangladesh and New Zealand will fight it out to crown the champion of champions.
Team India enter the tournament as the defending champions since they won it the last time – in 2013 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. This time round under the helm of Virat Kohli the Men in Blue will begin their tournament against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4 at Edgbaston.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the tournament will be broadcasted in more than 200 nations across five continents and they are expecting to reach more than two billion people.
