'Confidence meraa! Kabar banegi teri' - Chris Gayle’s Hindi leaves Yuvraj Singh in splits
Gayle gets the expressions correct and even speaks the first part pretty well, however, when it comes to the second part, he flubs the line completely.
Chris Gayle is perhaps one of the most fun-loving cricketers in the world. His Instagram feed is full of him partying and having the time of his life altogether. At 40, he knows his playing days are nearing their end and he had also announced retirement from the ODI cricket after the 2019 World Cup, only to make a U-turn from it.
He is eyeing a final hurrah at the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia given that the West Indies are the defending champions and Gayle has been part of both those triumphs. The Caribbean cricketer will be seen in the Ultimate Kricket Challenge, a cage cricket extravaganza to be held indoors, which was announced back in November 2019, as per reports of the Times of India.
Gayle says, “Confidence meraaaa ! Kabar banegi teri”
Recently, Yuvraj Singh, who will also be seen in the Ultimate Kricket Challenge alongside Chris Gayle, shared a video on his Twitter account while possibly shooting a commercial for the same. In the video, Gayle has been asked to say “Confidence meraaaa ! Kabar banegi teri” in a scary and energetic tone. Gayle gets the expressions correct and even speaks the first part pretty well, however, when it comes to the second part, he flubs the line completely.
This sends Yuvraj and the person recording the video into splits of laughter, with Gayle himself laughing loudly. “Confidence meraaaa ! Kabar banegi teri !! Well said kaka @henrygayle,” tweeted Yuvraj Singh.
Meanwhile, Yuvraj Singh who retired from international cricket and IPL was seen back playing for the India Legends’ team in the recent Road Safety World Series 2020 which featured retired cricketers coming for a good cause of spreading awareness about following rules while driving. It featured players from Sri Lanka, Australia, West Indies, and South Africa, apart from India.
Chris Gayle, on the other hand, will be seen playing for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL 2020, which has been postponed from March 29 to April 15, due to the coronavirus threat in the country. The BCCI has been forced to put the tournament on hold after the Indian government suspended all visas resulting in no foreign players being able to enter the country.
