Pakistan emerged as the number one T20I team in the latest update of the ICC Team rankings by overhauling the Kiwis with 124 rating points. New Zealand’s comprehensive loss to India in the first T20I at Delhi did help Pakistan’s cause to overhaul the Kiwis.
Pakistan this year has won 8 out of the 10 T20Is played this year which included the T20I series against West Indies, World XI and the Sri Lanka. The men in green recently whitewashed the Lankans.
Hasan Ali, who was recently crowned as the number one bowler in ODIs, congratulated the Pakistani team for their success in the shortest format of the game and claimed that it only due to their consistency which reaped rewards for the men in green.
“Congratulations to the PCB and the entire nation. Pakistan is now the number-one T20 team in the world. The satisfaction is obvious as our performance and consistency paid dividends”, asserted an ecstatic Hasan Ali during a visit to a local university.
Looking to polish my skills with the older ball: Ali
The pace sensation of the Pakistan Cricket Team who is renowned to clinch three-wicket haul in every match he plays addressed that he his working towards polishing his skills with the older ball, as he usually comes in as the first or second change.
“I bowl in the middle with a relatively older ball hence working hard to polish my skills. I do seam bowling as well as reverse-swing and trying to master them,” added the number 1 ODI bowler, who hogged the limelight with his unique generator celebrations.
India is currently placed at the 5th position following England at the fourth position and West Indies at the third. New Zealand is now placed second in the order. South Africa and Australia, are now sixth and seventh in the rankings.
