Virat Kohli once again showcases his love for football
Indian skipper Virat Kohli also reacted to the post, expressing his desire to play the football match. “Count me in next time we’re in town,” he commented. Kohli’s love for football is hidden from none as, on numerous occasions, the talismanic cricketer has been spotted playing the game. Meanwhile, Iyer, responding to Kohli’s comment, wrote “Left Winger” alongside a tick-emoji.
Meanwhile, Kohli is currently in England, preparing for a five-match Test series against the home team, starting from August 4. Team India have been on a roll in red-ball cricket lately and would back themselves to shine against the Three Lions. However, the visitors also have a point to prove as they lost to New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final next month. Hence, it would be interesting to see how the upcoming series pans out.
Speaking of Iyer, the right-handed batsman has been out of action since March earlier this year. He sustained a shoulder injury during the ODI series against England which took a while to recover. Iyer even had to miss the now-postponed Indian Premier League (IPL) and the ongoing Sri Lanka tour.
Nevertheless, Iyer has now recovered and would be raring to take the field soon. He is expected to mark his comeback in the second half of IPL 2021, which gets underway on September 19 in UAE.
