The Pulwama attack has created a massive outrage in India. There are views flowing in from all corners of the country. Cricket has taken centre stage as well. India are scheduled to face Pakistan in the ICC World Cup in England later this year and India are mulling a possible boycott. India may forfeit the game against Pakistan.

Pundits from various fields have flooded the media with their multiple views. Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has joined the debate. He opines that India should not play the World Cup game against Pakistan which is slated to take place in Manchester on the 16 of June. He feels the country comes first and cricket can take a backseat.

The veteran actor doesn’t care about the fine that International Cricket Council (ICC) will levy or the two points India will lose if they boycott the game. He took to Twitter to express his strong views and tweeted, “To hell with ICC fine and to hell with losing two points and if it comes to not playing World Cup TO HELL WITH IT! Country comes first not cricket !”

This is against what the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar opined. The former India cricketers want the ‘Men in Blue’ to face their arch-rivals and beat them, dedicating the win to the victims of the Pulwama attack.

We will go by what government and BCCI decide: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is one of the role-models in this country. After a break, he returned to the Indian side for the upcoming series against Australia. He faced the media for the first time since the third ODI in New Zealand. The nation wanted to know what the Indian skipper feels on the issue. Hence, he was asked about the India-Pakistan issue in the pre-series press conference in Visakhapatnam.

He offered condolences to the martyred soliders’ families. Also, he stated that they will stand by whatever the board (BCCI) and the government decide. “Our sincere condolences to the families of CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in Pulwama attack. We stand by what the nation wants to do and what the BCCI decides to do. We will go by what the government and the Board decides, we will respect that,” Kohli said.
