Entire cricket fraternity is at a standstill at the moment. Everybody is waiting for 4th June. On that day, India will take on arch-rivals Pakistan at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Both the camps are willing to begin their ICC Champions Trophy 2017 campaign on a winning note. As the cricket fans from both the countries usually say, it is a bit more than just a cricket match.

But ahead of the match, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has shown a perfect example of commitment towards the nation. The better half of the 28-year-old all-rounder, Riva Solanki is pregnant. But the Saurashtra-born player is currently training with the team in England. According to him, national duties comes first and hence he is not willing to miss the 8-team elite competition.

“I had to leave my pregnant wife behind. Family matters a lot to me, but it was also necessary to be part of the team with an important match coming up against Pakistan,” said Jaddu while speaking to the official broadcaster of ICC Champions Trophy 2017, Star Sports. He further mentioned that for him, representing the entire nation

He further mentioned that for him, representing the entire nation at such a big stage is more important than staying back home with the family. “Since the family is there to take care of her even they felt that I should play as that’s more important and I decided to do the same,” added the owner of 10 ODI fifties.

Rain Rain go away

Amidst all excitements and sacrifices, mother nature might play a spoilsport. On Friday, the match between Australia and New Zealand was washed out. Unfortunately, the much-awaited, high-voltage India-Pakistan match will take place at the same venue. The weather forecasters have failed to provide us some good news, as they said that within 1 PM to 4 PM, there are 54% chances of precipitation.
