Australia batter Marnus Labuschagne is currently having a torrid time in the County Championship for Glamorgan in the 2021 season. The right-hand batter had a horrible average of 8.25 in three games ahead of the ongoing match against Kent. They say when the batter is out of form, a bit of luck is needed to turn the tide around.
It seems luck is not favoring Labuschagne, who was seen agitated when the umpire ruled him out lbw when the observers felt the ball had been struck outside the line. Naturally, the Australia batter was upset and trudged off walking before turning his head and saying something to umpire Richard Illingworth.
Darren Stevens was the bowler to send Labuschagne back to the pavilion for yet another low score. The 45-year-old veteran scored 190 with the bat first rescuing Kent from a precarious position after they were reduced to 128-8. All the strokes of the right-hand batter were elegant and he was looking in sublime touch before Labuschagne struck to remove the batter 10 short of a double hundred.
As satisfying as it is to see 45 year old Darren Stevens, fresh off a 190, dismissing Marnus… this looks a genuinely shocking decision. https://t.co/gh0iORL2zL

Labuschangne fails to carry his good form from Sheffield Shield to County
In April, the Australian batter had helped Queensland beat New South Wales by an innings and 33 runs as he scored 192 runs. The 28-year-old was fittingly named Player of the Match and he had carried that confidence while entering the County Championship 2021. Things so far have not panned out the way as he would have liked as he has scores of 11, 12, 10 and 0.
Labuschagne had a great 2019 season with Glamorgan last season scoring over 1500 runs and had a good Ashes in England scoring two fifties.
“You need to come in prepared and your game needs to adapt. You need to understand the conditions, the bowling, and what changes you’ll make to your own game to be successful and find ways to do well. You need to be prepared to change, and not get caught in trying to play one way. That’s what I enjoy most about the game: finding ways to keep performing even if you’re not feeling that good for whatever reason.” Labuschangne stated to Fox cricket.
