Indian players are having an excellent outing during the 2022 County Championship. Spinner Washington Sundar, who was playing his debut match for Lancashire, had a dream start as he scalped four wickets and helped his side to get in a strong position against Northamptonshire.
The right-arm spinner bowled some excellent line and lengths and did not let any opposition batter to dictate terms against him. Sundar bowled 20 overs and gave just 69 runs and scalped four crucial wickets for his side on Day 1 and he would be looking to continue his performance on Day 2 as well.
At first, Sundar got the wicket opposition skipper Will Young who was looking to cut a short-length delivery but could only manage an edge that was safely pouched by the wicketkeeper Dane Vilas.

Sundar then got the big wicket of Rob Keogh, who was playing well after completing his fifty. As the batter tried to drive a delivery outside off-stump, the ball took the edge and Luke Wells completed an excellent reflex catch in the slips.
That is ridiculous, @luke_wells07! ๐คฏ

For Northamptonshire, the wicketkeeper-batter Lewis McManus stood unbeaten on 59 at the end of Day 1, and he will be looking to take his team to a competitive total. Lancashire also has a strong batting line-up, and they will be looking to wrap up their opponents first innings as soon as possible and post a big total to get ahead in the match. After showing his capabilities with the ball, Sundar will also like to make a contribution with the bat as well.
