The Jamaica Tallawahs and the Barbados Tridents will clash with each other in the 12th game of the CPL 2016 at the Bridgetown Barbados. The match is set to be a run-scoring fest if both the teams batting line-up get going. The Tallawahs have the likes of Chris Gayle and Kumar Sangakarra while the Tridents have the equally dangerous names like AB de Villiers and Shoaib malik in their ranks. Both teams look pretty much equal on paper, too. therefore it will be difficult to pick the favourites. However, if the current form the players are considered, the Tridents hold a slight edge over the Tallawahs.

Jamaica Tallawahs:

Jamaica Tallawahs biggest strength throughout the tournament will be Chris Gayle. He is a complete asset but the worrying factor can be that the entire batting line-up seems to be leaning on him for better results. Batting wise, the Tallawahs did well in the first two games posting 151 and 191 respectively with Gayle contributing 51 and 108 to the total. However, in the most recent game against Guyana Amazon Warriors, the Tallawahs could manage mere 100 runs. Incidentally, Gayle was dismissed in the first over for a golden duck.

While, it is anticipated that he will come strong in the tomorrow’s clash; the batting order comprising of out of form opener Chadwick Walton, the seasoned Kumar Sangakkara and Rovman Powell need to bat more responsibly and hold guard if the Jamaican giant fails again. Just like most of the teams in the CPL, the Tallawahs have a spin heavy attack. The left-arm duo of Imad Wasim and Shakib al Hasan has done their job exceptionally well. Leg-spinner Nkrumah Bonner and Garey Mathurin have also played the supporters role pretty effectively. Dale Steyn, Kesrick Williams, Rovman Powell will form the pace attack.

Probable XI:

Chris Gayle, Chadwick Walton (WK), Kumar Sangakkara, Shakib Al Hasan, Nkrumah Bonner, Andre McCarthy, Imad Wasim, Dale Steyn, Garey Mathurin, Kesrick Williams.

Barbados Tridents:

Comparatively, Barbados Tridents look mighty in the batting department. The batting line-up has wonderful names who are doing well currently. With AB de Villiers and Shoaib Malik looking in great touch, scoring a match-winning half-century in the previous game. Kieron Pollard too smacked some big shots. These factors make the batting order look far superior that Tallawahs.

But, they must also not try unnecessary experiments. Sending all-rounder Wayne Parnell and holding back Nicholas Pooran doesn’t seem to be a good idea. Parnell is a handy hitter of the ball but it is perhaps needless to send his at number three in a line-up already which has a number of good hitters. Nicholas, too, has some attacking credibility to his name and deserves better chances.

The bowling attack is pretty similar to their opposition but has been more impactful. Seamers David Wiese, Ravi Rampaul, Imran Khan and Wayne Parnell all have snapped wickets. The spinner Akeal Hossain and Ashley nurse have to be more economical but.

Probable XI:

Stevan Taylor, Shoaib Malik, AB de Villiers , Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Wayne Parnell, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Ashley Nurse, David Wiese, Ravi Rampaul
