Caribbean Premier League is done and dusted with its league stage and the first qualifier where Patriots won to secure their place in the final. However, there have been some heated moments throughout the league between the players. In one of those incidents, Chadwick Walton of Warriors gave it back to Kesrick Williams in his style itself when the latter had celebrated his wicket in earlier games.
Caribbean players have a habit of celebrating the occasion in their style and entertain the spectators. While most of them pull out their own version of the dance, Kesrick Williams has a different way of having fun when he picks up a wicket. He pulls out an imaginary notebook from his pocket and makes note of that wicket and keeps it back.
The funny incident
It was all started by Kesrick himself when, during the 15th match, he dismissed Chadwick Walton and broke an important opening stand defending 128 for the Tallawahs. The slower ball from the bowler was hit straight into the hands of the point fielder by Walton. Kesrick Williams, at first celebrated the wicket in a normal way but soon went to the departing batsman and unfurled his notebook from the pocket and made note of his wicket on his face. The game was done and dusted as Tridents managed to sneak a victory by just 2 runs.
Walton gives it back in style
During the return game between the two sides, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs, once again Kesrick Williams and Chadwick Walton battled it out. But this time around the former was at the receiving end and probably in a more humiliating way. Walton was in the middle of his brutal hitting when Williams was brought into the attack in the 4th over as Tridents were defending a total of 150 this time.
The first delivery from Williams was belted towards the boundary and straight away Walton started his celebrations by noting it down in an imaginary book on his bat. He didn’t stop there as he continued to smash him all around the park and scored 23 off the over. Walton enjoyed every moment and celebrated in the same style after every delivery. He did the same when Williams came back to bowl his second over and continued to embarrass the bowler. Eventually, Walton remained unbeaten on 84 off just 40 balls as Warriors won the game with more than 9 overs to spare.
Walton gave it back to the bowler in his style and came up trumps as it was one of the worst days for Kesrick Williams. Both the player face off yet again in the eliminator on Wednesday and it will be fun once again for the spectators.
