CPL 2018 aiming to introduce changes to spice up matches
The CPL 2018 management is hoping to drastically alter the playing conditions for the upcoming edition.
With the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) well and truly up and coming, it is clear that the organizers are aiming to make it a lot bigger and better than it was the last time around. However, this time around, the organizers have indeed decided to take it a notch higher – by altering the playing conditions.
In recent times, a lot of former cricketers have come out and stated their disregard for the toss in Test cricket, something that has been gaining momentum, so to speak. In fact, such is the impact of the toss that it virtually decides the outcome of the match. However, with domestic T20 organizers looking to make the shortest format of cricket a lot more interesting.
‘Working hard to make conditions fair’
The operations director of the CPL – Michael Hall has however stated that the team works quite hard each year to ensure that the competition is indeed as fair as possible in addition to keeping the viewers entertained.
“We work hard each year to ensure that playing conditions are making the competition as fair as possible while also keeping the spectators and viewers at home entertained. We feel both of these changes will help with both of these goals,” Michael Hall, the tournament operations director for CPL, said.
In recent times, the Caribbean Premier League has indeed taken off with some spectacular cricket on show. However, in spite of this, it has not really reached the levels of tournaments such as the T20 Blast and in particular the Indian Premier League. Yet, the league does indeed have several world-class players on a show each year as the tournament is well and truly going to dazzle this time around as well.
