CPL 2020: 5 transfers that could prove costly for teams
The below-mentioned players have tasted decent success in T20 cricket and in the CPL.
2. Fawad Ahmed- Trinbago Knight Riders
After picking 22 wickets from 13 matches in CPL 2018, eyebrows were furrowed when the Knight Riders released Fawad Ahmed. The St Lucia Zouks roped him in and he turned out to be their most frugal bowler with an economy of 6.41 apart from picking up 10 wickets.
However, despite the performances, the St Lucia franchise didn’t persist with the leggie, something surprising as well. Fawad has arguably been one of the best leg-spinners in the CPL, at least in the last few seasons. The Knights will be mightily pleased to have Fawad back into their mix.
For the Zouks, they have replaced Ahmed with Afghanistan’s Zahir Khan Pakteen, but whether he is equally effective or not, remains to be seen. Veteran Mohammad Nabi is the other genuine spin-bowling option in the Zouks’ lineup.
