Here are all the statistical highlights from a 37-run victory for the Jamaica Tallawahs on Saturday:
End of Tallawahs’ losing streak against Patriots:
4 – Jamaica Tallawahs brought an end to their 4-match losing streak in the CPL while playing against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Tallawahs ended up on the losing side in both matches against the Patriots during the 2019 season and also lost their last two meetings of the 2018 edition.
A big defeat in a low chase:
37 – The 37-run defeat of the Patriots is now the biggest loss in terms of runs while chasing a target under 150 in the CPL. The previous biggest was of 36 runs for the Jamaica Tallawahs while chasing 148 in their previous game against the Barbados Tridents.
Phillips mauls Patriots yet again:
420 – Glenn Phillips has scored 420 runs in the CPL against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots which are the most for any player surpassing Kieron Pollard’s 349 runs. Phillips has aggregated 420 runs from only 8 innings against the SKN Patriots at an average of 60 with the help of a century and two fifties.
Mujeeb surpasses Shakib:
12 – Number of wickets for Mujeeb Ur Rahman in this tournament; the most number of wickets in a CPL edition for a Jamaica Tallawahs’ spinner. Mujeeb went past Shakib Al Hasan‘s tally of 12 wickets during the 2016 edition where the left-hander played as many as 13 games.
A tight spell by Imran Khan:
7 – Imran Khan conceded only seven runs in his four overs during the game against Jamaica. These are the fewest number of runs conceded in a CPL match for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The previous fewest was 10 runs by Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir and Tabraiz Shamsi in the space of three days during the 2015 season.
1/7 – Imran Khan’s 1/7 on Saturday are also the most economical bowling figures in the CPL against the Jamaica Tallawahs. Sunil Narine had figures of 0/9 against the Tallawahs in the 2013 season game for Guyana and 1/9 in the 2016 edition for Trinidad.
A day of milestones for Brathwaite:
52 – Carlos Brathwaite completed 50 wickets in the Caribbean Premier League by dismissing Ben Dunk in the 9th over. Brathwaite is only the 10th player to claim 50 or more wickets in the CPL and just the 5th player with the all-round double of 500+ runs and 50+ wickets in the league.
151 – Brathwaite also completed 150 wickets in Twenty20 cricket on Saturday when he dismissed Rayad Emrit. With that wicket, Brathwaite became one of 31 players in the Twenty20 history with the double of 1500+ runs and 150+ wickets.
