The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is currently in progress in full flow with all the matches being played in St Kitts. CPL is often known to be played in good spirits as players share a laugh even after a tense game takes place and this season, the fans have already witnessed multiple spirit of cricket moments. Another such incident took place during the match between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 29.
Warriors were cruising while batting first thanks to a brilliant partnership between Mohammad Hafeez and Shimron Hetmyer. In the 13th over, skipper of the Patriots Dwayne Bravo came on to bowl the second over of his spell in a bid to break the partnership. He couldn’t do it though and ended up conceding 10 runs in the over.
However, what happened during the over caught the eye of the fans. Off the fourth ball of the over, Hetmyer pushed the ball uppishly to the right of Hafeez which Bravo dived and tried to stop. In the process, the Patriots captain ended up bumping into Hafeez as the two batsmen were looking to sneak a single.
Bravo was down in pain with even the Pakistan batsman apologising him. The scenes which followed soon were the best example of sportsman spirit. Hetmyer first enacted hilariously as he was going to hit Dwayne Bravo with the bat in the middle of a single. Later though both Hafeez and Hetmyer went to the bowler who was still lying down and hugged him. The physio also attended Bravo who was soon back on his feet to bowl the next delivery.

Rutherford shines in Patriots’ win
As far as the match is concerned, the Warriors posted 166/3 in their 20 overs thanks to a splendid 70 from Mohammad Hafeez and a 52 from Hetmyer. But the score didn’t prove enough with Sherfane Rutherford smashing sixes for fun during his unbeaten 59 off 34 balls. The southpaw slammed six sixes and a four while openers Devon Thomas and Evin Lewis also got to 30s as the Patriots registered a six-wicket win in the last over.
