5 players with most man of the match awards in IPL history
After 15 years of the league, some players have proved why they've always been considered match-winners.
1. AB de Villiers (25)
AB de Villiers enjoys a huge fan base in India due to his amazing career in both IPL and international cricket. In the Indian T20 league, he holds many incredible records, and one of those is holding the most Player of the Match awards also by clinching the award 25 times. Playing in the IPL for 14 seasons, De Villiers represented Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and notched up 5,162 runs in 184 matches at a stunning average of 39.70.
The South African cricketer has also scored three centuries in his IPL career. One during his stint with Delhi Capitals, and two during his 11-year journey with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Serving the Challengers for 11 years, he drove many RCB cricket fans crazy by playing a lot of dashing innings in the middle order.
As a finisher, his record has been fantastic for the franchise and many fans have also compared him with other finishers in the league such as MS Dhoni and Kieron Pollard. In 2022, he didn’t participate in the competitive league as he bid adieu to all forms of game in 2021 November.
