Test cricket is known to be the toughest brand, as it physically and mentally shakes individuals. Good players can become great, and greats can turn into legends if they manage to prove their worth in the longest format of the game. 2024 was no different as some of the cricketers across the globe turned up on the occasion and proved their worth to make a name for themselves.

Here’s the list of the best Test XI of the year:

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal (India)

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal ended the year with 15 Test matches in 2024, scoring 1478 runs at an average of 54.74. He finished the year as the second-leading run-scorer in Test cricket, which is a phenomenal feat, given that the 23-year-old only made his Test debut last year. He has been consistent and hit three centuries in the year and is expected to be India’s one of the biggest stars in the years to come.

2. Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand)

New Zealand international Rachin Ravindra made 984 runs in 12 matches at an average of 42.78 in 2024. The youngster made his long-awaited Test comeback earlier in the year and, in his first match, hit a double century against South Africa. He also hit a century against India in Bengaluru as the BlackCaps went on to win the series 3-0.
