2. Tom Latham
Tom Latham has been providing his services to the New Zealand cricket team for the last ten years, but so far, he hasn’t got a chance to play in the IPL. Back in 2018, he took part in the mega auction but no franchise showed interest in him. After four years, he is trying his luck again while registering himself for the mini-auction 2023.
Going through his records for his national side, it could be said that he has reliable figures in ODIs. But, speaking of his statistics in T20Is, the 30-year-old New Zealand cricketer might not be considered an ideal batter in the given format. With these circumstances, the franchises may show reluctance in investing money in Latham.
As some other trending wicketkeepers such as Phil Salt, Nicholas Pooran, and Heinrich Klaasen have also signed up for the auction, the franchises may not prefer him over them as these cricketers are actively playing in shortest format for quite some time.
