Following two successive defeats, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) got back to winning ways after dispatching Delhi Capitals in a one-sided affair in Bangalore. Faf du Plessis' side outplayed the Delhi-based outfit in all facets of the game and will be looking to continue the same performance in the upcoming fixture.

It was another brilliant start from Virat Kohli and Faf at the top of the order for RCB. While Kohli's glittering half-century steadied the ship in the middle overs, a late cameo from Shahbaz Ahmed helped the side to a decent total. The RCB bowlers rose to the occasion in the second innings, dishing out a clinical bowling performance.

They will now host four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next fixture, who are coming into the game after a narrow defeat against table-toppers Rajasthan Royals. It won't be an easy game for the home side as Chennai looks to have found their groove in this year's tournament and will be looking to get back to winning ways in the game against Bangalore.

Here's Royal Challengers Bangalore's predicted XI against Chennai Super Kings:

Openers: Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli

RCB's star opening pair of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli delivered another good start to the side with a brisk opening stand during the field restrictions. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, who was looking to take the attack to the Delhi bowlers, had to depart after a brilliant catch from Aman Hakim Khan.

While the RCB skipper departed after a handy cameo at the top of the order, his opening partner and former Indian skipper Virat Kohli registered his third half-century of the tournament to keep the scoreboard ticking on a tricky surface. Kohli was looking in sublime touch before an untimely dismissal saw him succumb to a full toss from Lalit Yadav.

Middle Order: Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik (wk)

23-year-old top-order batter Mahipal Lomror, who was slow to get going in the initial stages, played a decent hand after his skipper's dismissal in the powerplay. The cricketer from Rajasthan compiled 26 runs in 18 deliveries and was part of a steady partnership with Virat Kohli. He was substituted by Anuj Rawat later in the innings.

Explosive Aussie all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was taking no prisoners against the Delhi Capitals as he made his intentions pretty clear from the get-go. His brisk cameo of 24 runs off 14 deliveries, which included three sixes, was cut short by Delhi's star left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav in the 15th over of the match.

Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik set IPL 2022 alight with his pyrotechnics with the bat. But the diminutive cricketer has failed to live up to the lofty standards in this year's competition as he was dismissed for a golden duck against Delhi Capitals, his second duck of Indian Premier League 2023. His recent failure means he is now tied with the most ducks in the tournament's history.

All-rounders: Wanindu Hasaranga, Shahbaz Ahmed

RCB's leading wicket-taker in last year's competition, Wanindu Hasaranga, returned to the competition in the previous match against the Capitals. Although it wasn't a happy return for the Sri Lankan bowling ace as he leaked away 37 runs in his three overs, the Men in Red and Gold will be pleased by the return of their mystery man.

Indian all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed finally got a chance to display his skills with the bat for the Bangalore-based franchise after a flurry of wickets against David Warner's side. The southpaw played a brisk cameo, smashing 20 off just 12 deliveries to take his side to a competitive total of 174 runs in their 20 overs.

Bowlers: Wayne Parnell, Harshal Patel, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Mohammed Siraj

Veteran South African left-arm seamer Wayne Parnell had another impressive outing for the home side in their last encounter against Delhi Capitals. He conceded just 28 runs in his four overs and returned with the all-important scalp of Mitchell Marsh. His partnership with Mohammed Siraj is blossoming tremendously for the Bangalore-based franchise.

Harshal Patel was promoted up the batting order to salvage some quick runs for his side, but the medium pacer could manage only six runs with the bat. However, it was a much-improved bowling performance by him against the Delhi Capitals, returning with economical figures of 1/32 in his four overs.

It was a dream IPL debut for RCB's Vijaykumar Vyshak as the 26-year-old pacer from Bangalore returned with brilliant bowling figures of 3/20 in his four overs, the best figures for an Indian pacer for RCB on debut. He grabbed the crucial wickets of David Warner and the in-form Axar Patel during his four-over spell.

After an underwhelming bowling display against two-time champions KKR, Mohammed Siraj is back to his very best in IPL 2023. The Indian fast-bowling sensation was in a menacing mood against the Delhi-based franchise in Bangalore, returning with exceptional figures of 2/23 after a fiery spell of fast bowling.

Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Probable Playing XI:

Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Wayne Parnell, Mohammed Siraj, Vijaykumar Vyshak

Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Probable Impact Players:

Anuj Rawat, Akash Deep, Avinash Singh, Karn Sharma, Siddarth Kaul
