Inconsistent Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on table toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, April 23. Royal Challengers Bangalore enter this game with a 24-run win over Punjab Kings in their last game and are currently placed in the fifth position in the points table with three wins from six games.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals remain at the top position with four points from their opening six games despite a disappointing 10-run defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in the last game. They were restricted to just 144/6 while chasing a 155-run target despite 40-plus knocks from openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Riyan Parag was given another chance but the youngster failed to finish the game once again and is likely to get benched for the upcoming game. Despite a defeat, Rajasthan Royals are likely to stick with the same eleven, barring Parag's exclusion, with Jason Holder starting ahead of Australian spin ace Adam Zampa.

Here's Rajasthan Royals' predicted XI against Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Openers: Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal

After registering a duck against Gujarat Titans in the previous game, Jos Buttler scored 40 off 41 against Lucknow Super Giants in the last game. The in-form opener struggled for the big shots with just four fours and a six. But he is leading the scoring chart for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023 with 244 runs from six innings at a strike rate of 146.98 with three fifties so far.

Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with 44 runs off 35 with the help of four fours and two sixes against Lucknow to give Rajasthan Royals a promising start. Similar to Buttler, he also struggled to maintain a healthy strike rate while chasing. Jaiswal recorded two low-score knocks in the previous two games before the Lucknow game but has been in excellent form in IPL 2023 with 180 runs from six innings.

Middle Order: Sanju Samson (wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel

After playing a match-winning knock of 60 off 32 against Gujarat Titans, Sanju Samson scored just two runs against Lucknow Super Giants before getting run out. Samson has managed to score 159 runs from six innings at an impressive strike rate of 160.60 but is yet to display consistency this season.

Devdutt Padikkal has been utilized as an Impact Player by Rajasthan Royals' management but the left-handed batter is yet to register an impactful knock. Padikkal scored just 26 off 21 against Lucknow Super Giants in the last game and has scored 113 runs from his last five innings.

Shimron Hetmyer has been the consistent finisher for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023 so far. He finished the game against Gujarat Titans by smashing 56* off 26 but contributed just two runs against Lucknow in the last game. Hetmyer has smashed 185 runs from just six innings, remaining unbeaten on four occasions, at a strike rate of 177.88.

Dhruv Jurel was dismissed on a golden duck against Lucknow Super Ginats but the youngster is enjoying a breakthrough season in IPL 2023. Jurel has already helped Rajasthan Royals with two cameo knocks and has scored 62 runs at a strike rate of 177.14.

All-rounder: Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin continued his red-hot form with another impressive spell against Lucknow Super Giants in the last game. Ashwin took two wickets for 23 and scored three unbeaten runs while chasing. Ashwin has been in great form in IPL 2023 with eight wickets at an amazing economy rate of 6.75 and has scored 44 runs so far.

Bowlers: Jason Holder, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal

Jason Holder has been limited to just bowling in IPL 2023 as Rajasthan Royals are using the Caribbean star as the third-choice pacer. Holder took KL Rahul's big wicket in the last game but proved costly with his four-over spell. He has taken only four wickets from five innings this season and definitely needs to contribute more.

Trent Boult gave Rajasthan Royals an impressive start against Lucknow in the last game by conceding just two runs off his two-over spell in powerplay overs. Boult conceded just 16 runs and took a wicket to play a crucial role in Rajasthan's impressive bowling attack. Sandeep Sharma continued to impress with another good spell against Lucknow Super Giants in the last game. His recent performances are enough to earn him regular starts ahead of Kuldeep Sen and Navdeep Saini.

Yuzvendra Chahal endured another costly spell as he conceded 41 runs without a wicket against Lucknow Super Giants in the last game. This was his first game without a wicket this season but the last season's leading wicket-taker remains in the IPL Purple Cap 2023 race this season with 11 wickets from six innings so far.
