Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) suffered a disappointing loss against five-time champions Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring thriller in their previous encounter. Although they are still placed in the top half of the IPL 2023 points table, they will have to pull up their socks against a dangerous Gujarat Titans side.

While Yashasvi Jaiswal shone with a dazzling maiden IPL century in his last outing, none of the other Rajasthan batters were able to contribute with the bat against Mumbai Indians. Despite posting a mammoth total on the board, the Rajasthan-based outfit ended up on the losing side after a below-par bowling performance in the death overs.

Here's Rajasthan Royals’ predicted XI against Gujarat Titans:

Openers: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler

It was the Yashasvi Jaiswal show when Rajasthan Royals clashed against Mumbai Indians in their previous encounter at the Wankhede. The young Indian opener smashed a breathtaking century, the third of this year's edition, compiling 124 runs in just 62 deliveries. His swashbuckling innings catapulted him into the list for the leading run scorer in IPL 2023, and he has got a great chance of clinching the elusive Orange Cap this year.

While his young opening partner is racking up the runs from the other end, explosive English batter Jos Buttler has struggled for runs in recent matches. He was the second-highest scorer for his side against Mumbai Indians, scoring just 18 runs in 19 deliveries. Rajasthan will hope that he can rediscover his form against the defending champions.

Middle Order: Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson is in the midst of a frustrating season for the Men in Pink this year. He has shown glimpses of his talents in IPL 2023 but has often failed to prolong his innings despite a bright start. It was the same for the stylish batter against the five-time champions in Mumbai.

Middle-order batter Devdutt Padikkal, who has found a bit of form in this year's tournament, had no answer to Piyush Chawla's guile in his last outing, managing just two runs in his brief stay at the crease. He is another batter who will be looking to regain his form heading into the business end of the tournament.

Rajasthan's hard-hitting Carribean batter Shimron Hetmyer's form with the bat has gone into a tailspin ever since his match-winning half-century against defending champions Gujarat Titans. He will hope to replicate the same form when he faces the Titans bowlers for a second time this season.

All-rounders: Ravichandran Ashwin, Jason Holder

Veteran Indian offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin bowled with exceptional control and deception in a high-scoring affair against the five-time champions in Mumbai. He scalped two wickets, including the massive scalp of the dangerous Cameron Green, in his four overs, conceding just 27 runs.

It was a forgetful day at the office for West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder as he was taken to the cleaners by the Mumbai batters in the death overs. Holder, who was entrusted with defending 17 runs in the final over of the match, conceded three consecutive sixes in his first three deliveries, returning with 55 runs in his 3.3 overs.

Bowlers: Adam Zampa, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma

Skilful Australian leg spinner Adam Zampa was at his supreme best in his last appearance for the Rajasthan-based franchise against Chennai Super Kings. He spun a web around the CSK batters, conceding just 22 runs in his three overs and picking three crucial wickets to derail Chennai's run chase.

Veteran Indian leggie Yuzvendra Chahal went wicketless for a second game running after returning with expensive figures of 0/32 in his three overs. He will be hoping to find his rhythm in the upcoming game against reigning champions Gujarat Titans.

Playing his first season for the Men in Pink, Sandeep Sharma is impressing one and all his exploits with the ball. While he has been in top form with the new ball, his death bowling skills have also helped the side in the latter stages of the match. He will have to be at his best against a power-packed batting line-up of Gujarat Titans.
