The side will look to make a few changes in their lineup ahead of their crucial game against Gujarat Titans. It could be interesting to see how skipper Warner fares against the defending champions and what playing XI he could go with, along with probable impact player options that can help the team do well and grab a win.

Here's Delhi Capitals’ predicted XI against Gujarat Titans

Openers: David Warner (c), Prithvi Shaw

David Warner played a captain’s knock in Delhi’s first game of the IPL 2023. The stalwart had been facing issues with his poor run of form while playing for the national side, but he scored 56 runs in 48 deliveries in Delhi’s campaign opener. Though the knock went in vain, the 36-year-old would look to have a similar impact in Delhi’s next game, where they take on the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans.

Prithvi Shaw failed to make an impact in his first game as the 23-year-old only managed to score only 12 runs before he was sent back to the pavilion by Mark Wood, who was breathing fire. Shaw will hope to put in a better performance in the upcoming matches and prove to be an integral player for Delhi Capitals.

Middle Order: Mitchell Marsh, Lalit Yadav, Sarfaraz Khan (wk), Rovman Powell

Delhi Capitals' middle order failed to impress in their previous game, and Mitchell Marsh, who was coming off impressive performances against India in the ODI series, failed to replecate the same in the IPL as he was dismissed for a golden duck courtesy of Mark Wood

Sarfaraz Khan was also sent back to the pavilion scoring just four runs. If Delhi are looking to clinch their first win of the competition, the middle order of the side will have to show up and put in a good performance and not collapse, like they did in the previous game.

Rovman Powell also succumbed to the relentless bowling attack of Lucknow as the 29-year-old only managed to score four runs last time around, and his form could be crucial for Delhi Capitals if they want to defeat the defending champions.

All-rounders: Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel

Lalit Yadav could be one change that Delhi would look to make in the upcoming game against Gujarat Titans. With 229 runs and eight wickets in 19 matches, Lalit Yadav could become an integral player for Delhi if given the proper playing time. The team might bring him in, and replace him with a four overseas option using the impact player advantage.

As expected, a lot will be on Axar Patel’s shoulders at the IPL 2023. The star Indian all-rounder scored 16 and even took a wicket in his last outing with Delhi Capitals. Patel has been in good form in red-ball cricket, and it could be quite a challenge to convert that form in T20 cricket. However, considering Axar’s repertoire, he could go on to become an integral part of Delhi Capitals’ campaign at the IPL 2023.

Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar

Delhi Capitals will be expected to go into their second game with an unchanged bowling lineup. Man-in-form Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket and conceded 35 runs in the four overs that he bowled in his previous game. Leaking extra runs cost Delhi the game in their previous encounter, and the side will hope for a better showing from the bowlers in their upcoming matches.

The same was the case for 25-year-old Chetan Sakariya, who, despite taking two wickets, conceded 53 runs in the four overs that he bowled. He would be desperate to improve upon his performance as the match against Gujarat is right around the corner and his side would be hundry for a victory.

Khaleel Ahmed also took two wickets in his last game, he was the bowler with the least amount of runs conceded (30) from the squad in the four overs that he bowled. Apart from that, Mukesh Kumar was the only bowler in the set-up who failed to take wickets. The 29-year-old conceded 34 runs in the process as well. An improved performance from the bowling attack of Delhi would be needed if the David Warner-led side are looking for better campaign this time around.

Delhi Capitals (DC) probable XI:

David Warner (c), Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Lalit Yadav, Sarfaraz Khan (wk), Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar

Delhi Capitals probable impact players:

Rilee Rossouw, Mustafizur Rahman, Aman Hakim Khan, Yash Dhull, Ishant Sharma
