2. Delhi Capitals (DC)- Mukesh Kumar (INR 5.50 Crore)
At the 2023 mini-auction, Delhi Capitals (DC) signed up Mukesh Kumar for INR 5.5 crore to bolster their fast-bowling unit. In his debut IPL season, he played 10 matches and ended up with seven wickets at an economy of 10.52, with the best figures of 2/30 against Mumbai Indians (MI).
Along with experienced pacers Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, and Mitchell Marsh, Mukesh’s role was to reinforce his team. However, his bowling numbers clearly indicate that he struggled to be among the wickets and also leaked a lot of runs during his spells.
Against the quality teams Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gujarat Titans (GT), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), his indisciplined bowling undermined Capitals as the opponents plundered plenty of runs from his overs. In his last appearance against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala, Punjab batters took him to the cleaners and looted 52 runs in his four-over spell.
