The 32-year-old could only bag a solitary scalp in the four matches that he got to feature in the last season averaging 72 and an economy of 6.55.
However, Willey might have to warm the bench this time around with the inclusion of his English teammate and left-arm speedster Reece Topley.

<h3>9. Sunrisers Hyderabad- Akeal Hosein</h3>

Hosein has some amount of experience under his belt in the shortest format having bagged 25 scalps from 29 T20Is averaging 29.56 and also has an average of 22 with the bat.
Hosein has been a consistent performer in the previous three editions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and is on a roll in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 12 where he has taken 10 wickets from four matches for the Melbourne Renegades.
However, with already plenty of depth this time around in the SRH camp, it is highly unlikely that Akeal Hosein might get a chance to shine.

He was roped in for INR 1 crore in the accelerated auction.
While Root has been enjoying a purple patch in red-ball cricket in the last couple of years, things have not been the same as far as the shortest format is concerned and his final T20I appearance happened to be way back in May 2019.
Therefore, with the top and middle order spots of RR already occupied by key and consistent players for the 2023 season, Root might have to wait for a while to officially make his IPL debut.
