The 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has successfully completed six wickets of high-octane cricket. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have taken the top two spots in the table on the back of some amazing performances in the preceding five weeks of action. The two sides have shown their strength with some brutal batting and amazing bowling that has helped reach so far in the tournament.
The likes of Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals are still in the race for the final two places in the top four of the table. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made a late dash to reach the playoff spots with their resurgence. Mumbai Indians on the other hand became the first to be officially eliminated from the tournament.
Here is the best Indian XI from the sixth week of IPL 2024
Openers – Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad
After his century against the Mumbai Indians, Yashasvi Jaiswal heralded his return to form with the bat. The young batter followed it up with a 24 versus Lucknow in the next game before scoring an exciting 67 in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad where the Royals lost by just one run in a thrilling IPL 2024 encounter.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been having a dream run with the bat but sadly it has come a little too late as he missed a chance to make it to the Indian team. The Chennai Super Kings skipper scored a 98 against SRH at home followed by his score of 62 versus Punjab Kings and followed it up with another 32 against the same opponents in Dharamshala.
Middle-order – Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav
Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson had a lot to celebrate as he was picked for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The 29-year-old was at his best with the bat in the game versus LSG where he scored 71 not out to take his team to a win. Although he could only score a duck in the game against SRH, Sanju Samson’s overall performances in the sixth week were amazing with both the bat and as the captain.

Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav has chosen the right time to come back into form with the bat. The 33-year-old began with a failure against LSG before scoring a valiant 56 against KKR. The icing on the cake was yet to come as the veteran batter scored his second IPL ton to help MI win a key game versus SRH in front of his home fans.
All-rounder – Nitish Kumar Reddy
Sunrisers Hyderabad have given Indian cricket a new all-round talent in the form of Nitish Kumar Reddy. The youngster batted well in the game against Rajasthan Royals and scored a key half-century to take his team past the 200 mark and win the game. Pat Cummins has also entrusted with him the task of bowling a few overs which he has done well.
Bowlers – Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Harshal Patel
Veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has finally come back to good form with the ball. His three wickets against the Royals were a good example of why an in-form Bhuvneshwar is a threat to any side. Fiery pacer Jasprit Bumrah seems to be warming up for the T20 World Cup very well as he has been the best bowler in the IPL so far and has been miserly with the ball.

Mohammed Siraj who has finally found his groove dented Gujarat Titans with a brutal early spell. The 30-year-old got the wicket of Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill and bowled with great control. Out of favour Indian bowler Harshal Patel too is inching up on the highest wicket takers charts with much improved showings in recent games. His memorable moment came when his slower ball deceived and bowled MS Dhoni for a golden duck.
Spinners – Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy
Two spin bowlers who were part of the Indian not too long ago have been serving a fair notice to the selectors. Rahul Chahar played a key role in Punjab Kings' win over CSK at the Chepauk Stadium and took three more wickets in the return fixture.
While KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy began the season poorly but the 32-year-old has also picked up his form. The mystery spinner has left the batters bamboozled and picked with 8 wickets in his last three appearances.
