IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings strongest predicted playing XI against Delhi Capitals

In one of the most keenly anticipated battles on Sunday, two young captains will battle it out in the middle for the 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Ruturaj Gaikwad of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the Delhi Capitals (DC) side led by Rishabh Pant. IPL 2024 heads to the beautiful Visakhapatnam for the 13^th game of the season.

So far the defending champions Chennai Super Kings haven’t put a foot wrong during the season. Their batting has been doing well and their bowling has been strengthened with the return of Matheesha Pathirana.

Openers – Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra

 After the injury to Devon Conway, many fans wondered if the Chennai Super Kings would struggle with their opening combination. The loss of one Kiwi has seen yet another step up to fill his shoes.

The opening partnership of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra has been performing well for Chennai Super Kings. While Rachin Ravindra has been going after the bowlers, Ruturaj Gaikwad is contended to take the backseat and drop anchor for his team.

Middle-order – Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Sameer Rizvi, and MS Dhoni

Despite his inconsistent form with the bat Ajinkya Rahane is viewed as a key member for Chennai. The 35-year-old was one of the standout performers for CSK during IPL 2023 and helped them win their 5^th title. Shivam Dube is yet another player who has been piling on the runs with the bat. The 30-year-old is continuing to prove why he deserves a place in the Indian side for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Young Sameer Rizvi marked his first foray into the IPL with the bat with a quick 14 runs off 8 balls. With two sixes in his knock, the youngster has proved that the scouts of CSK have got the right man for the job. MS Dhoni is yet to bat this season but the legendary star has been amazing with his wicketkeeping for his side.

All-rounders – Daryl Mitchell and Ravindra Jadeja

The Kiwi contingent at Chennai Super Kings seem to be doing a stellar job in IPL 2024. Daryl Mitchell who was brought for a huge sum of money has been proving his worth with the bat and ball.

Ravindra Jadeja has endured a quiet time with the ball but this could just be the lull before the storm. The 35-year-old has been donning the hat of a finisher with the bat and doing well despite MS Dhoni being in the team.

Bowlers – Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tushar Deshpande  

After his four-wicket blitz against RCB, pacer Mustafizur Rahman bowled well in the next game versus Gujarat Titans. The left-arm pacer picked 2 wickets to take his season’s tally to six wickets. 

Deepak Chahar and Tushar Deshpande too seem to have found their stride with the ball in hand. The two stars found good pace and swing to help the Chennai Super Kings win the game by a massive 63 runs.
